Privacy policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
becomingA (Becoming Alive) is an app that helps you track your wellbeing and, if you choose, share it with a coach. It is operated by Trevisan Labs Pty Ltd (ABN 59 703 154 545), Australia ("we"), which is responsible for the app and for your personal information in it. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language. Privacy contact: contact@trevisan.au.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, and sign-in details (Sign in with Apple or email).
- What you log: weight, body measurements, progress photos, food, water, sleep, activity, mood check-ins, supplements, cycle, notes and targets.
- Apple Health (only if you connect it): the categories you allow, such as steps, energy, workouts, sleep, heart rate and other vitals, nutrition, water, body measurements, mindfulness and cycle data.
- Oura (only if you connect it): the data you approve on Oura's own consent screen, such as sleep, readiness, activity, heart rate, SpO2, stress, workouts and tags.
- Meal photos for estimates (only if you use Estimate with AI and allow it): the photos or menu screenshots you choose and the notes you type about the meal. They are sent once, encrypted and without location or other photo metadata, to an AI service on Amazon Web Services in Australia to estimate calories and macros. We do not keep them, they are not added to your progress photos, your coach never sees them, and the service does not store them or use them to train models. Only the numbers you confirm are saved, marked as estimates. You can withdraw your permission any time in Me → AI.
- Coaching: messages, check-ins, suggestions and call notes exchanged with your coach.
- App usage: simple events such as when you open the app or log something, without the content, to improve the app. We use no advertising or third-party analytics.
- Technical diagnostics: how long requests and screens take, crash and freeze reports from iOS (MetricKit), your app version, iPhone model, iOS version and connection type. Diagnostics contain no content and no health data: no names, emails, entries, photos, values or identifiers. They are stored in our own server logs under a one-way code that changes every month and is not linked to your account, kept for 30 days, and used only to keep the app fast and stable. They are on by default during the beta and you can switch them off at any time in Me → What's stored, who sees it → Share diagnostics.
How we use it
To provide the app to you: store your history, calculate trends, targets and estimates, show your progress, and, if you link a coach, let them see the categories you share. We never sell your data and never use health data for advertising or marketing.
Who can see it
- You see everything you log.
- Your coach, only if you link one, and only the categories you switch on. You can hide single entries, change what you share or end the coaching at any time; hiding or ending never deletes your data.
- Service providers that host the app for us: Supabase (database and sign-in) and Amazon Web Services (photo storage, email delivery, server functions, and the AI service that estimates meal photos), with data stored in Sydney, Australia (meal photos are processed within Australia and not stored). They process data only on our instructions.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited per person and per category, every change to your data and every time a coach opens it is recorded in an audit log you can view in the app, and your session is kept in your device's keychain. Apple Health data is never stored in iCloud.
Your choices and rights
- Export all your data from the app (Me → Export my data).
- Delete your account and data from the app (Me → Delete account). Photos are removed from storage too.
- Disconnect Apple Health in the Health app, and Oura in the app or on Oura's website.
- Ask us for access to your personal information, or to correct or delete it, at contact@trevisan.au.
- If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, write to us at the same address and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). Brazilian residents can also contact the ANPD.
Australian privacy law
We handle personal information, including health information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. We collect health information only with your consent, which you give by choosing to log it or to connect a source, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. The service providers listed above store your data in Australia. If you choose to share data with a coach, that coach receives only the categories you switch on.
Retention
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is deleted; audit records are kept for up to two years without your personal content, to protect the security of the service.
Health information
becomingA records and organises your information. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Talk to a health professional about medical decisions.
Changes
We will update this page and tell you in the app if anything important changes.
